Naval Academy sexual abuse case: Attorney questions midshipman's memory

WASHINGTON (AP) - A defense attorney is questioning how clearly a midshipman remembers a party where she says she was sexually assaulted by three former U.S. Naval Academy football players.

Lt. Cmdr. Angela Tang pointed to inconsistencies Friday in what the woman told Navy investigators last year and how she is recalling events at a military hearing this week in Washington.

The woman says she had been drinking heavily and has no memory of having sex with the men. She says she only learned about it later from one of the men accused.

Tang also is questioning the veracity of what the woman told investigators. The woman initially did not want an investigation and says she held back details.

The hearing is being held to determine whether the men will face a court-martial.
