Naval Academy Museum to close Mondays

Defense Department furloughs will cause the Naval Academy Museum to close one day each week through the end of September, The Capital Gazette reports.

The museum in Preble Hall will be closed every Monday through September 29. It will stay open Tuesday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m, and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Beginning this month, about 1,500 civilian employees at the Naval Academy will be furloughed about one day a week for 11 weeks.

Furloughs will also affect civilians working at Fort Meade.
