Outlets stores will soon be coming to the National Harbor in Oxon Hill, Maryland.
The mall has 85 designer stores.
And the designs are in for adding outlet stores. A vote was taken and they chose to go ahead with the stores.
Today, the news media and public got the first glimpse of what the new outlets on National Harbor will look like and it includes a nautical theme.
"It's a much higher quality than what you see in other outlet centers," says Taylor Chess of the Peterson Company.
The horseshoe shaped mall will have on-site parking for 1,600 vehicles. And several hundred jobs are promised.
Shoppers don't have to worry about bad weather. Though outdoors, there is a covering.
"I usually travel to the Eastern Shore, so it will be a convenience for me," says Tonya Newman of Ft. Washington.
Tanger Outlets has 30 malls across the country.
Today, their company representatives met with the Prince George's Planning Board to finalize mall details after two years of controversy.
The Historical Commission finally withdrew its complaint and has agreed to allow development on the site of Salubria, a plantation where a slave allegedly poisoned her master's three children.
Now empty, the site is 44 acres behind the existing Gaylord Resort and Convention Center. And the owners are hoping to bring in more tourists.
