Sheriff's officials in Harford County are looking into who posted pictures of naked, underage girls from an area high school onto Facebook this week, the Baltimore Sun reports.
Harford County Sheriff's Office officials said they found out Tuesday night that photos of the girls, who go to Edgewood High School, were posted to the social network. They have since been taken down.
However, authorities were able to file a report before the pictures disappeared. The Sun reports they don't believe the girls posted the photos to Facebook themselves.
"The more likely scenario is that they took the photos themselves and forwarded them to a friend/boyfriend/girlfriend," Sheriff's Office spokesman Eddie Hopkins told the Sun.
Hopkins also says that the photos likely don't rise to the level of being considered child pornography.
