A D.C. police officer under investigation died Saturday in Southeast D.C., possibly by suicide, sources say.
The officer had been under investigation at least since Monday for alleged inappropriate activity that was reportedly observed by one or more citizens and possibly videotaped.
The officer who was 56 was a veteran from the MPD class of 1995 or 1996 and had been assigned to the First District.
Internal Affairs has been investigating the citizen complaints. He had been placed on non-contact status.
