A Montgomery Village fire left dozens without a home Tuesday.

Several residents and two firefighters were injured after an apartment complex on Club House Road caught fire just before 7:30 p.m. Neighbors say one man was injured after he jumped from the third floor.

The blaze has been ruled accidental and caused nearly $750,000 in damages.

“The flames [are] coming out of the second floor into the third floor into the attic and that’s what caused the roof to go up in flames, so yeah, pretty bad,” said Stew Merritts.

Twelve apartments were destroyed, leaving over 40 people without a home. Several residents and pets were rescued.{ }

The bulk of the fire was knocked out by 8 p.m.
