Montgomery County executive considers vetoing council pay raises

(WJLA) - Montgomery County Executive Ike Leggett is considering vetoing the council member’s pay raises, which will go into effect in 2014.

The Washington Post reports that Leggett says the council should have been happy with an 11 percent increase instead of the 17.5 percent that was recommended to the council.

“I just think that at this time it is somewhat inappropriate. It’s pretty large,” Leggett told the Washington Post.
