Missing Gaithersburg NIH scientist found dead in Alleghany County, Md.

ALLEGHANY COUNTY, Md. (WJLA) – Martin John Rogers, the 54-year-old NIH scientist who has been missing since Aug. 21, was found dead Thursday afternoon.

Maryland State Police troopers were called to the area of MV Smith Road, south of Interstate 68 in Alleghany County, around 1 p.m. for a report of an abandoned vehicle. Troopers soon found the Gaithersburg man’s body near the car, which belongs to the deceased.

Police do not suspect foul play in Rogers’ death.
