(WJLA) - A Blue line Metro train hit a deer early Monday morning, causing delays as the work week got underway.
The deer was hit while a Blue line train moved near the Addison Road station near the eastern end of the line, Metro officials said, causing single tracking between Addison Road and Morgan Boulevard.
Officials say the train that hit the deer had to be removed from service due to damage. Authorities also had to remove the deer from the tracks before normal service could resume
Single tracking ended just before 8:30 a.m.
