(WJLA) - An intoxicated man fell over a wall at the L'Enfant Plaza Metro station early Sunday morning. It's the sixth time drunk riders have taken a tumble in just a few weeks.
Metro spokesman Dan Stessel said the latest incident happened around 1:40 a.m. when a man leaning against a parapet wall passed out and tumbled backwards. He was transported to the hospital with neck and back injuries and was in stable condition.
The man was released from the hospital late Sunday, a WMATA spokesman said.
A parapet wall is the half wall that runs along the Metro platform away from the tracks.
Stessel said the man's blood alcohol content was three times the legal limit to drive.
Metro encourages people to call a cab if they can't stand because they're so intoxicated.
