Md.'s tax-free week details to be released

ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) - Comptroller Peter Franchot is announcing the details for Maryland's annual tax-free week for certain clothes and shoes.

Franchot will join local officials and representatives from the retail industry Wednesday in Annapolis to talk about "Shop Maryland." Maryland residents will not have to pay the 6 percent sales tax on qualifying clothing and shoes that cost $100 or less between Sunday, Aug. 14 and Saturday, Aug. 20.

Franchot will visit stores on Main Street in Annapolis to talk to merchants and shoppers.
