(WJLA) - The National Association of Black Journalists will induct ABC7's Maureen Bunyan into the 2014 Hall of Fame.
She will be inducted for making "outstanding contributions to the industry." Bunyan is a founder of the National Association of Black Journalists.
"The board had previously wanted to induct founder Bunyan into the Hall of Fame but she declined because she felt her being the chair was a conflict of interest," NABJ President Bob Butler said in a statement. "But the board the felt the honor was long overdue and unanimously voted for her induction."
She was named "Washingtonian of the Year" in 1992.
