Map of Maryland. (ABC7)

A 21-year-old woman died following a three-car crash early Thursday morning in La Plata, Maryland.

Taylor Anne Halbleib died from her injuries after she was taken to the University of Maryland Charles Regional Medical Center for treatment.

Investigators say Brittany Camille Coggins, 24, the driver who was struck by Halbleib's car, was not injured in the collision.

According to police, Daniel Juwan Butler was the driver of the car at fault in the accident. Butler sustained injuries and was taken to the University of Maryland Charles Regional Medical Center.

A passenger in Butler's car, identified by police as 21-year-old Logan Alexander Shifflet, was injured and taken to UM Prince George's Hospital Center for treatment.

Police say Butler was driving his car along Maryland Route 6 when he failed to stop and rear-ended Halbleib's car pushing it into Coggins' vehicle.

Investigators believe alcohol and speed were factors in the collision, which occurred on Charles Street and Cooksey Road.
