BALTIMORE (AP) - Maryland's Motor Vehicle Administration is starting an emergency contact registry.
The program allows residents with a state driver's license or identification card to provide contact information for up to three people to be notified in case of an emergency. It began on Monday.
Emergency contact information can be submitted online or at kiosks at MVA offices.
MVA Administrator John Kuo says the information will be stored electronically on a person's driving record and will be available only to law enforcement authorities.
