      Maryland DNA collection court decision not reversed

      Maryland's Court of Appeals will not reverse a decision that limits the ability for police to collect DNA from anyone arrested on violent crime charges, The Daily Record reports.

      The ruling may clear the way for Maryland Attorney General Doug Gansler to take the fight to the U.S. Supreme Court, The Daily Record says.

      In late April, Maryland State Police stopped collecting DNA evidence from suspects in the wake of the court's decision. Gansler then moved quickly to have the ruling reversed.
