LAUREL, Md. (WJLA) -- Parts of a man’s dismembered body were found in trash bags in Laurel Sunday morning.

After receiving a call about 9:40 a.m., Prince George’s County police made the grisly discovery near the Arden Pointe apartments in the 8800 block of Enfield Court near Contee Road and Edinburgh Lane.

Police identified the victim on Monday as Jacinto Perez, 28, a Guatemalan immigrant who lived about one block from where the bags were found.

Sources told ABC7 News Monday that Perez had no known gang connections, and that the only family he had locally is a brother.

As of Monday afternoon, police said they have still not determined where Perez was killed. Homicide detectives are still investigating, along with police dogs and other officers.

Cadets and detectives have largely focused on going through apartment complex garbage dumpsters in search of the remaining body parts of the murdered man.
