Man's body found in Manassas near dumpster, wrapped in carpet

MANASSAS, Va. (AP/WJLA) - The body of a man has been found in Manassas and authorities are treating the death as suspicious.

Police say the man was found by neighbors Sunday around 10:30 a.m. in the 8900 block of Nicol Lane. The man's body was found near a dumpster and was wrapped in a carpet.

City spokeswoman Patty Prince says the death is being treated as suspicious. Prince says police do not know how long the man had been dead before he was found.

Police say the 26-year-old man was killed by apparent stab wounds.

His name is being withheld pending notification of the family.
