Man charged with pointing gun at woman

      GLEN BURNIE, Md. (AP) - Anne Arundel County police have charged a man with pointing a gun at a woman who was walking her dog in Glen Burnie.

      It happened about 9:30 p.m. Saturday in the Cromwell Fountain development. Police say the 21-year-old woman saw a man, who was also walking a dog, pointing a handgun and her and her dog.

      The Capital of Annapolis reports that officers say the woman and the man exchanged words and she went home.

      Police say officers found a man in the stairwell of a building. Authorities say he told police he knew what they were looking for a pulled a handgun from his waistband. The man was taken into custody.

      Forty-six-year-old Norman Wieland of Hanover was charged with assault, reckless endangerment and handgun offenses.
