The second annual Walk For Wishes will be held on Saturday, March 16th on the National Mall. Tommy Show personalities Kelly Collis, Tommy McFly and Jen Richer will join Make-A-Wish Mid-Atlantic for the community-wide event dedicated to raising funds to grant the wishes of local children facing life-threatening medical conditions.
In addition to the Tommy Show emcees, Georgetown Cupcake has teamed with Make-A- Wish Mid-Atlantic to offer coupons for free cupcakes to the first 500 participants to come through the early registration event hosted by Hyatt Regency, Capitol Hill on Friday, March 15 from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Walk For Wishes will take place from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. and is open to walkers of all ages, including local children who have had their wishes granted, their families and those enthusiastic about the Make-A-Wish. The event will provide entertainment for the whole family, including music, face painting, balloon art, and special guest appearances. Registration for the event is free.
Those interested can get involved by walking, sponsoring the walk, pledging to support walkers, volunteering time to the event, and donating goods that will help reduce costs. Participants who raise $150 or more will receive a commemorative T-shirt. The walk will kick off at 12:00 p.m. at the National Museum of American History and finish at the same location.
