A clear frontrunner has emerged in the Maryland Democratic gubernatorial primary, according to a new poll.
Lt. Governor Anthony Brown is leading Attorney General Doug Gansler 41 percentage point to 21 percent, with Montgomery County delegate Heather Mizeur receiving 5 percent.
The poll was conducted by Gonzales Research & Marketing Strategies. The poll was conducted in the first two weeks of October.
The Washington Post reported on Sunday - during the last days of polling - that Gansler allegedly ordered his drivers to run red lights and drive recklessly. It's unclear, however, if this influenced respondents' answers to the poll's question.
Governor Martin O'Malley, meanwhile, is breaking even, with 48 percent approving of him and 48 percent disapproving.
The poll also found that 58 percent of respondents approved of President Obama while 40 disapproved.
