A web site claims the D.C. based discount company LivingSocial Inc. will soon die as a brand.
The financial news and opinion site 24/7 Wall St. says LivingSocial is among 10 brands that won’t survive past 2014.
“The biggest competitors to both LivingSocial and Groupon are eBay, American Express and Amazon’s own AmazonLocal service. Each has a huge customer base and significant amounts of data about its customers, which they can use to target deals,” states 24/7 Wall St. “LivingSocial does not stand a chance.”
Among the other brands that won’t survive, according to 24/7 Wall St., are J.C. Penny, Volvo and Olympus.
