Loudoun County Sheriff releases sketch of suspect in Sterling area armed robberies

(WJLA) - A sketch of a suspect possibly involved in four armed robberies in the Sterling area, two in the past week and two in December, has been released by detectives with the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office.

Friday night, a woman in the Stanford Square area told deputies a man with a firearm demanded her wallet and made her take off her coat. The suspect fled when the woman screamed.

On Feb. 9, a suspect with a gun stole a wallet from a Sterling woman at her apartment door on Stanford Square.

The suspect description and other circumstances are similar to two cases of armed robberies of women in December, police say.

The possibility that it is one man, a serial armed robber, is being investigated.
