(WJLA) - Two former workers at a Northern Virginia child care center will be in court next month on allegations that they physically and verbally abused children.
A preliminary hearing for Kierra Spriggs and Sarah Jordan was scheduled for Wednesday, but was continued until Feb. 26.
Spriggs and Jordan are facing charges of cruelty or injury to a child and assault and battery in connection to their alleged treatment of children at the Minnieland Academy At The Glen in Woodbridge.
Spriggs, 24, and Jordan, 29, were both cited in Virginia Department of Social Services reports with a pattern of systemic mistreatment of kids.
That alleged mistreatment included forcing children to eat spicy foods, spraying them with water hoses and picking them up from cots and dropping them on the floor.
Both Spriggs and Jordan were fired last September. Their accused actions were discovered in site visits by Social Services officials on Aug. 23 and Sept. 4, 2013.
