HARRISONBURG, Va. (AP) Court clerks say the lone person facing charges stemming from a block party near the James Madison University campus last year has agreed to a plea deal.
The Daily News-Record reported Friday that 24-year-old Kalvin Lamar Jackson has reached an agreement with prosecutors, though no deal had been filed.
Jackson was charged with felony malicious wounding by mob and misdemeanor assault or battery by mob.
Prosecutors claim he beat a JMU student during a riot at the annual Springfest on April 10, 2010. Police used tear gas to disperse the gathering, estimated at 8,000 people.
Jackson is one of six people charged with the attack. Charges against the others were dismissed in June.
