Josh Burdette, 9:30 Club manager, died of suicide

Josh Burdette, a longtime bouncer and manager at Washington's 9:30 Club, took his own life, The Washington Post reports.{ }

Burdette, 37,{ }was found dead inside his Kensington home Sunday.

For many, Burdette{ }was the face of the V Street Northwest music venue. His stretched earlobes, tattoos and body piercings made him stand out from the crowd.{ }He began working at the club in 1997.{ }

"Here was this scary looking dude that was a complete contradiction of his appearance. We were proud to have him as our ambassador to the world," co-owner{ }Seth Hurwitz told ABC7 earlier this week.{ }
