(WJLA) - A 21-year veteran of the Prince George’s County police was arrested on Tuesday and charged with more than a dozen sex offense and other charges.
Lieutenant John Warhurst, who was arrested in Calvert County, had his policing powers suspended from the Prince George’s County Police department pending the outcome of the criminal case.
He is facing multiple sex offenses, including second degree rape and sex offense involving a child.
“This police department takes very seriously our mission of constitutional, professional and ethical policing,” said Police Chief Mark Magaw in a statement. We strive to be transparent in everything we do.”
Warhurst is being held on $100,000 bond.
