Ryan's official cause of death will be determined by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Baltimore, but officials said that there was trauma to his body. His wife told told police she last saw him on Nov. 27 at their home; he left their home on the 28th before she woke up that morning.
Ryan owned a power-washing business. The father of two was often seen outside playing with his two young daughters.
Investigators say they also found an unspecified amount of marijuana and cash in the trunk along with Ryan's body.
No arrests have yet been made.
"It's very shocking to think someone would be found dead in the trunk of their car," says neighbor Brooke Whiteside.
