(WJLA) - A 15-year-old football player at a central Virginia high school died earlier this week after collapsing during a practice, the Daily Press reports.
Jacob Vick, a sophomore at New Kent High School, collapsed and lost consciousness Tuesday, the team's coach told the Daily Press. He was airlifted to an area hospital, where he later passed away.
A cause of death has not yet been determined.
"He did all of the things you'd hope your son or daughter would do," New Kent head football coach Dan Rounds told the Daily Press.
New Kent County is a community of about 18,000 people east of Richmond.
