Hyattsville City Police make 2 arrests in double shooting of teen boys
HYATTSVILLE, Md. (WJLA) – The Hyattsville City Police Department has made two arrests in connection with a double shooting that injured two teenage boys last Wednesday.
Three boys, aged 15 to 17, were walking in the 5700 block of 30th Street shortly before 8 p.m. on July 30 when they were approached by three Hispanic men, according to police. One of the men fired at the boys with a handgun, striking two of the teens.
Detectives worked closely with the U.S. Immigration Customs Enforcement, Homeland Security Investigations, Prince George’s County Police Department, Montgomery County Police Department and Prince George’s County Sheriff’s Department to obtain warrants for two suspects, Josue Vladimir-Resinos and Aldair Antonio Garcia-Miranda.
Garcia-Miranda, 20, of Wheaton, Md., and Vladimir-Resinos, 33, of Laurel, Md., are both being held without bond. Police say the charges filed against them include attempted first-degree murder, first- and second-degree assault, and reckless endangerment.
The investigation is ongoing.
