Honest Tea experiment shows D.C. an honest city

D.C. ranks as the nation's tenth most honest metro areaaccording to a recent "honesty" experiment.

Recently, the Bethesda-based company named Honest Tea set up unmanned beverage stands nationwide, asking people to leave a dollar for each bottle they took. Undercover observers used a digital tracking application to monitor which passersby took a drink without paying.

Ninety-five percent of Washingtonians paid for their drinkscompared to a 100 percent compliancy for honesty experiments in Oakland and Salt Lake City.
