High winds cause Capitol to go dark

WASHINGTON (WJLA) - High winds caused the Capitol dome to go dark Wednesday night.

It happened at about 8:30 p.m. A spokesperson says the high winds caused a power surge, knocking out the exterior lights.

Power was restored within 30 minutes.
