Police: Parkdale HS student hospitalized after being stabbed multiple times near school

One person was hospitalized and Parkdale High School in Prince George's County was placed on lockdown Tuesday afternoon after a reported assault in the woods outside of the school, police say. (SkyTrak7)

Prince George's County police say a 16-year-old Parkdale High School student was hospitalized after being stabbed multiple times near the school Tuesday afternoon.

Police also say they believe the that the suspects in the stabbing have gang affiliation.

Parkdale High School was placed on lockdown after the stabbing was initially reported by police as an assault in the woods outside of the school.

Sources told ABC7 News that it happened at the rear of the school's baseball field.

This is the second incident of violence on a Prince George's County school property this week.

"Officers, acting on info that a group was forming off school property, arrived saw victim staggering out of woods, gave emergency aid," Prince George's County police tweeted. "Officers took several male subjects into custody on scene for questioning. we believe suspects in this case are gang affiliated."
