Police say the woman found dead inside a burning Reston apartment was pregnant. She has been identified as 38-year-old Jennifer Lynne Pearson.

The victim's husband was found dead in Texas. Authorities are investigating his death as a suicide.

Police say there is no threat to the public and authorities are no longer looking for suspects in Pearson's homicide.

The fire broke out in the 12000 block of Waterside View Drive Monday.

ABC7 spoke with Amanda Hamm, a neighbor who heard violent yelling coming from the apartment directly downstairs at around 2:30 a.m. Hamm dozed off to sleep but was awakened hours later by the smoke in her apartment.{ } She called 911, but firefighters didn't hear anyone inside the burning second floor unit.

"My eyes were burning,” Hamm said. “Something’s going on."

They forced their way in and found Pearson dead inside one of the rooms.

Police are now investigating the case as a homicide. Sources tell ABC7 Pearson's body was badly burned and had trauma to the upper body. The man who lives in the apartment is missing. Neighbors say he is in his late 20s to early 30s.

A handful of residents, including Hamm, her husband and daughter have been displaced due to smoke damage while police investigate. Hamm recalls speaking with her downstairs neighbor a few months ago.

“He seemed like a really nice guy,” she said “[I] haven't seen him for like three weeks."

Both police and fire officials are investigating.
