Glenn Neff to appear in court, planned to set off fireworks on Mall
The man who allegedly planned to set off fireworks in a show of protest on the National Mall will appear in court Friday.
Glenn Neff will appear at a preliminary hearing in Maryland a month after being found in his car in Cabin John Park in Bethesda with explosives in his vehicle.
Neff, a 27-year-old Stuart, Fla. native, was taken into custody on Aug. 23 by Maryland-National Capital Park Police with a large amount of fireworks, drug paraphernalia and alcohol found in his Jeep.
A profanity-laced tirade on his Facebook page indicated that Neff was angry with the state of the American economy. He admitted to officers that he was about half an hour away from driving to the National Mall to set off his fireworks in a show of protest.
