(WJLA) - Anne Arundel County Police said Tuesday that the woman killed inside a Glen Burnie medical building was connected to a shooting that occurred 10 days ago in Ferndale, Md.

Police also said they are investigating a possible connection between the woman's murder and the shooting earlier this month.

A 20-year-old man was shot several times at a Royal Farms convenience store on the 7200 block of Baltimore Annapolis Boulevard in the early-morning hours of May 3. The victim was transported to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center with non-life-threatening injuries.

Tuesday, Anne Arundel County Police said that the woman found dead Monday inside the Medical Arts Centre in Glen Burnie had some role in the May 3 shooting. The woman, 43-year-old Christie Lynn Pelland of Pasadena, Md., was arrested near the convenience store May 3 on a December, 2013 warrant for controlled dangerous substances.

Pelland, an employee of a cleaning company contracted to clean several{ } offices in the building, was found dead inside a gynecologists office with upper body trauma. Police said early indications are that Pelland was targeted in the murder.
