It looks like there will soon be a new bulldog on Georgetown's campus.

Georgetown University officials said on Facebook Friday that its new "Jack" was born on June 29. The schools Bulldog Advisory Committee is busily preparing the new puppy for its prominent role.

The puppy will replace Jack Jr., the former mascot-in-training, who lost his shot at becoming the new mascot last month.

According to The Hoya, he was removed after he bit a child last fall. J.J. is now living with a family who lives close to the campus.

Jack Sr. retired as mascot in March.
