Maryland's attorney general is proposing to give prison inmates tablet computers to help stop recidivism.
Doug Gansler told the Baltimore Sun that giving inmates tablets will help inmates with learning and will give them social support before they are released.
He said the inmates would also be allowed to access e-mail with family members on a limited basis.
"We have the ability in the 21st century to educate children online," Gansler told the Baltimore Sun. "You can learn a language online. Why can't we educate our offenders?"
