A 1-year-old dog was saved Tuesday after falling into a frozen lake in Prince William County.

According to Potomac Local, Fletcher, a Labrador retriever, was rescued by boat by the Prince William County Fire and Rescue Department after falling into the ice-covered Lake Montclair in Montclair.

Fletcher was about 20 feet from shore when he was pulled out of the icy waters by rescue crews around 3 p.m., per Potomac Local.

Fletcher’s owner told Potomac Local that the dog doesn’t usually go into the lake located behind their home on Fishermans Cove, but added that this was the first time the dog has seen ice on the lake.

Fletcher is now reunited with his owners and reportedly in good condition.
