Mark Brady, spokesman for the Prince George’s County Fire Department, was among the first to arrive on scene and took dramatic cell phone video of the fire in the 500 block of Harry S. Truman Drive.

Officials say a fire will double in size every minute it burns. Fire crews were{ }already battling a smaller house fire nearby. The fire on Harry S. Truman Drive{ }had burned for seven minutes before the first truck arrived on scene.{ }

“When firefighters arrived they had heavy smoke and fire coming from the rear of the house and heavy smoke coming out of the front,” Brady says. "Fortunately it didn’t extend into any of the house next door. It did burn siding off the townhouse 50 feet away.”

There were no injuries.
