Officials: Man, woman saved by firefighters from burning Md. house

A man and woman were rescued by firefighters after a fire broke out at a Clinton, Maryland house Friday morning, according to Prince George's Office of the Sheriff.

Officials report around 6:30 a.m. a team of Sheriff's deputies were driving down the 7200 block of Milligan Lane when they spotted the house the house on fire and immediately called it in and started helping.

Officials say, firefighters arrived on the scene and rushed in to the home to find a man in his late thirties to early forties unconscious inside. He was pulled out and minutes later firefighters found a woman around the same age also unresponsive.

Deputy Tyrone Macklin performed CPR on the front lawn of the home before firefighters took over and both were rushed to the hospital in critical condition.

In a video, the deputy was seen assisting, seemingly knowing exactly what to do. That's because he was also a volunteer firefighter in Capitol Heights.

Fire investigators are working to determine what caused the house to go up in flames.
