Eugene Delgaudio censured by Loudoun County Board of Supervisors
LEESBURG, Va. (AP) - The Loudoun County Board of Supervisors is disciplining one of its members.
The board censured Supervisor Eugene Delgaudio on Wednesday night, placed his district budget under board control and removed his staff aides. The board also barred Delgaudio from serving on any county, local and regional committees.
The action came in response to a report from a special grand jury that investigated allegations that Delgaudio misused his county office to raise political funds. The grand jury did not return an indictment, but it did issue a report last month on potential problems with the Sterling Republican's office. Delgaudio has said he did nothing wrong and opposed the board's motions.
Vice Chairman Shawn Williams proposed the motion to discipline Delgaudio and says it was time for the board to take action.
