A 35-year-old Mississippi woman is under arrest in connection the 2012 murder of her supposed boyfriend in Silver Spring, authorities say.

Katrina Renee Ben was arrested June 21 in connection to the murder of Eric Somuah, which happened inside his East-West Highway apartment last June 6. Somuah was found dead inside the home with a single gunshot wound to the head.

Montgomery County Police say that Ben, who is awaiting extradition to Montgomery County, was in a romantic relationship with Somuah at the time of the shooting and told police that she was his neighbor.

A day after the shooting, investigators found a gun matching the characteristics of a spent shell casing found at the scene on the Capital Beltway.

Authorities say that the gun they found was purchased by Ben in 2004.

Somuah was remembered by colleagues at the car dealership where he worked as a family-oriented man who took care of his customers. In addition to his work at a Bethesda Jaguar and Range Rover dealership, he had just started his own home health care business.
