Severalstudents were arrested Friday morning aftersecurity guards at Wakefield High School spotted them on the roof of the building drinking, school officials say.
According to Arlington County Schools spokesperson Linda Erdos, seven students were taken into custody at about 5:15 a.m. Each of the students graduated from the school during ceremonies held on Wednesday.
Three of the students are underage and were charged with trespassing, Arlington County Police say. The four others were charged as adults with trespassing and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
Police spokesperson Dustin Sternbeck saysa similar incident occurred on the second floor of theschool last week, which resulted in damages to the building.
Erdos said there was no damage to the building relating to Friday's incident, and police say the students did not enter the building.
Police searched the building with K9 units.
Wakefield High islocatedat 4901 South Chesterfield Road in Arlington and is currently not in session.
