(WJLA) - The price you pay to ride the Dulles Toll Road will be going up in less than two weeks.
Rates to drive on the 28.6-mile highway will go up by 75 cents on Jan. 1, raising the rate at the main toll plaza to $2.50.
Tolls at the highway's on and off rates will remain unchanged at $1. That means a drive on the entire road will cost drivers $3.50.
The toll increases are, in part, due to the need to fund Metro's Silver line project and to maintain the road itself. The new Metro line is expected to open in early 2014.
