Traffic is back to normal on the Capital Beltway in Fairfax County after downed power lines forced officials to close all lanes of the popular highway early Wednesday morning.

Both sides of the artery was reopened around 4:45 a.m.

Dominion Power spokesperson Leha Anderson says a construction crane{ }knocked the lines onto the roadway, between Route 6 and I-66, overnight.{ }About 180 residents in the area are without power as a result, but is{ }expected to be restored within the hour.

Officials say permanent repairs to the affected power lines will be planned for another day as not to affect rush hour traffic.
