George Washington University’s dean of the business school was fired this week after it was learned the business school overspent millions, according to the GW Hatchet.
Doug Guthrie, who was named dean of the business school in 2010, declined to comment to the Hatchet.
Under Guthrie, the business school reportedly overspent $10 million in an investment package. A university spokeswoman, Candace Smith, told the Hatchet Guthrie and administrators were “unable to reach a common understanding of how the business school should operate in the future.”
