One man was killed and another was injured Thursday morning in a double shooting near D.C.'s Sursum Corda neighborhood officials say.
The shooting happened in the area of the 1100 block of First Street NW, MPD officials say. The first victim was found there and taken to a nearby hospital, where he later died.
The deceased man is identified as 26-year-old Andre Wilson of NW D.C.
The other victim was discovered in the 100 block of Pierce Street NW.
Police say this is an active homicide investigation. Police have not yet released a description of any suspects.
Thursday's shooting happened less than a block away from the area where 13 people were injured in a drive-by shooting in mid-March.
That incident, which took place in the early morning hours of March 11, didn't critically wound anybody. The most seriously wounded victim was shot in the back.
