ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) - Del. Don Dwyer has lost a bid to modify his 60-day jail sentence for a drunken boating crash and a drunken driving arrest.
The Capital reports (http://bit.ly/JBK0jx ) that retired Harford County Circuit Court Judge Emory Plitt has denied Dwyer's request, which was filed last month.
In October, the Pasadena Republican was sentenced to 30 days for driving while impaired and 30 days for boating under the influence. Plitt ordered Dwyer to serve the sentences consecutively on weekends and he began serving his time last month.
Seven people were injured in August 2012 when Dwyer's boat collided with another vessel on the Magothy River. Dwyer's blood-alcohol content was more than twice the legal limit. He was charged with DWI a year later, after police say an officer spotted him driving erratically.
