If all you've ever wanted is to bring your furry friend along while you have lunch, dinner or a drink, more than two dozen Arlington restaurants and bars are now allowing you to do just that.
Thanks to a change to a county zoning ordinance, county officials say that restaurants may now allow apply to let patrons bring their dogs to outdoor dining areas and patios.
Restaurants and bars who want to allow dogs must undergo an application process, which includes a review of the establishment by Arlington County's Environmental Health Program. The Commonwealth of Virginia must also sign off on the plan.
