WASHINGTON (AP) - A D.C. man has been convicted of kidnapping and sexually assaulting a woman in 2003.

Shepardson Blair, 48, was convicted by a jury on Wednesday. Sentencing is set for July 20.

According to evidence presented at trial, the 27-year-old woman was walking home from Union Station on July 14, 2003 when a man grabbed her and choked her.

The man dragged the woman into bushes, slammed her face into the ground and sexually assaulted her.

The case was cold until 2011, when a DNA match linked Blair to the crime.
